Privacy & cookies
Privacy & Cookie Policy.
How we look after your information, the cookies we use, and the choices and rights you have.
Last updated: 3 June 2026
Who we are
The Viaduct (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides holidays, education, therapy and training for autistic children and their families in Cheshire. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is [registered entity name] of [full registered address, Cheshire, postcode].
If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@theviaduct.com.
What information we collect
This is largely an informational website. We only collect personal data when you choose to give it to us, plus limited analytics data if you consent to cookies.
- When you sign up to hear from us — your name, your email address, and the area(s) you tell us you are interested in (Holidays, Education, Therapy or Training, and any sub-topic you select).
- When you email us — the contact details and any information you include in your message.
- Analytics (only if you accept cookies) — anonymous, aggregated information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate region and device or browser type. We do not use this to identify you personally.
Cookies & similar technologies
We do not set any non-essential cookies until you choose to accept them. When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice; nothing analytics-related loads unless you select “Accept”. You can change your decision at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
| vd-cookie-consent | Essential (browser local storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don’t ask again. | Always — needed to honour your choice |
| _ga, _ga_<id> | Analytics (Google Analytics) | Helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Distinguishes visitors and sessions. | Only after you click “Accept” |
If you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded. If you accept and later change your mind, analytics will not load on future visits; you can also clear cookies in your browser to remove any already stored.
How we use your information & our lawful basis
- To keep you informed about The Viaduct and the area(s) you asked about — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To respond to enquiries you send us — on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- To improve the website using analytics — only on the basis of your consent to analytics cookies.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements:
- Brevo (Sendinblue) — our email/newsletter platform, which stores your sign-up details and delivers our updates. See Brevo’s privacy policy at brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
- Google Analytics — website analytics, used only with your consent. See policies.google.com/privacy.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up details for as long as you wish to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, after which we will remove you from our mailing list. Analytics data is retained in line with Google’s standard retention settings [confirm retention period configured in GA, e.g. 14 months].
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time (for emails, unsubscribe; for analytics, use “Cookie settings”);
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these, email hello@theviaduct.com.
Children’s privacy
Although our work supports autistic children, this website is intended for parents, carers and professionals. The forms on this site are designed to be completed by adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and any significant changes will be reflected here.
